The tooth is fully mineralised / fossilised and now feels like a piece of stone

Depending upon the angle the stone is cut

On the reverse you can see that it is stitched with plant fibres onto a rough hessian type backing

It was part of a collection that must have originated in a Russian medical school. This is a box of 25 prepared slides of sections of human glands including sagittal section of rat embryo, human amnion, trout embryo etc. The slides are in pretty good condition as is the original box.
