Criteria: The Professional Military Education Badge is used to recognize Air Force personnel currently studying under the professional military education at Air University with Basic Developmental Education (BDE)

Any officer who has earned the Surface Warfare insignia may automatically be awarded the gold Small Craft Pin upon joining a small boat command

The Fleet Marine Force combat operation insignia is also warranted for certain sailors

Additional awards of the AFC are annotated by oak leaf clusters
