Hand embroidered lines imitate the seams and folds of the dress, It is stitched onto cold pressed 100% cotton paper. The piece is based on an American dress from ca. 1818, held by the Museum at FIT (accession P85. 19. 1). As is typically seen in Regency dresses, decoration is kept to the bottom portion
