MacNaughton Hebridean Tartan Roxburgh Red The Doyle Blue Tartan featuresHistorical Context The MacNaughton family is a proud, historic Scottish clan with origins tracing back to the Middle Ages. The clan owned land in Strathtay as early as 1230 and later expanded their holdings to include Loch Awe and Loch Fyne. Notably, Donald MacNaughton stood against King Robert the Bruce, resulting in the loss of many possessions. However, they regained prominence when they acquired the land of Lewis under the reign of King David II.
