PALATEThe first impression of the wine is of a generosity
For this ‘entry level’ moelleux no botrytised fruit is selected only late harvest with some passerillage
with well-built but smoothed tannins
this independent bottling is expected to feature a distinct highland peat smoke aroma
sometimes across a little more in vintages that are difficult for reds (which 2023 wasn’t)
Whipbird Sauvignon Blanc 2024 pugnitello PALATEThe first impression of theWhipbird is a new brand from the Oatley Family, with guru winemaker Larry Cherubino at the helm, and focusses on the best variety region synergy. Bright pale straw. Fresh grassy lift over lemon and gooseberry. Sweet entry to a fleshy palate, with good varietal flavour and intensity, notes of peach, white pineapple, passionfruit and guava, and a juicy, flavoursome finish.
